A total of four new devices were unveiled at Apple’s September 2023 event. However, I felt that the overall device lineup had been reduced. This appears to be due to a decline in device sales due to the economic recession. The highly anticipated new iPad and iPhone SE were not released. Instead, the 9th generation Apple Watch, 2nd generation Ultra, and iPhone 15 series were released. 1. Apple Watch 9th generation and Ultra 2nd generation
Why were the 9th generation and 2nd generation Apple Watch released? There has been no significant design change, and the aluminum and stainless steel lineup has remained the same. In terms of performance, the new Watch Apple silicon chip, S9 SiP, is installed, and the brightness of the display has been improved. Additionally, a double tap gesture feature has been added. There was also the adoption of eco-friendly materials related to carbon neutrality and improvements in convenience features. Overall performance has improved and features have improved, but the price is still burdensome. Therefore, if you consider cost, it would be better to purchase the first generation watch.
2. iPhone 15 series
The iPhone 15 series was divided into the iPhone 15 basic model, Plus, Pro, and Pro Max. Overall camera performance has been improved, and a Type C charging terminal has been added. Additionally, dynamic island and voice separation functions are included in the entire lineup. The basic model and Plus are equipped with the A16 chipset, and the Pro and Pro Max are equipped with the A17 PRO chipset. It comes in a variety of colors, but the price is still affordable. The price of the Pro Max has become almost similar to the MacBook Pro. Therefore, if there is no significant difference in specifications, you should consider price when choosing. I can’t help but feel that PRO/PROMAX is a big sister, but convenience features such as action buttons have been improved for each device, and new features such as an always-on display have been added.
The devices unveiled at the September 2023 Apple event have improved overall performance and added various convenience features. However, the price is still burdensome. Consumers will have to pay attention to what choices they make. Personally, I am planning to purchase the iPhone 15 Pro and will share my review in the future.
